Xanxus is one of the vanguard in Ar Tonereborn. He’s a rich, 34-year-old Reyvateil Researcher with a scary-look and has many scars in his face. Xanxus is rather discipline, yet a straight-forward person who has a foul mouth (he has habit of saying ‘scum’ or ‘trash’ on every people he talk into). Originally named Pioggia, Squalo is the administrator of 'Male Reyvateil Heaven', Sol Infel. He is one of the most recent Origin created in order to bring prosper to the existence of Male Reyvateils.

Birth
Pioggia is created far after his predecessor's, Nebbia, birth. His [father], a man named Tyr Superbi, is a Hymmnos researcher who finds an ancient book, which turns out to be a note written by the researchers from the First Era about how they created the Three Goddesses. Tyr modeled and named him after his deceased wife, Pioggia, who also have silky silver locks and lanky figure despite being a woman. Upon his birth, Tyr thought he failed, but after Pioggia demonstrated his singing power, Tyr became a bit obsessed and begins his research of Male Reyvateils.

In his early years, Pioggia never questions his [father] growing insanity, but when he finds out that Tyr had been calling out many researchers and scientists to help him observing Pioggia, the boy began to fear him. In the end, those researchers forced Pioggia into their research facility and experimented on him in various ways, such as Installs and forceful Dives. This chain of painful events eventually causes him to get a temporary Divophobia--a phobia to Dive or to be Dived (which also happened to Mukuro/Nebbia).


Family


Tyr died tragically in a blast when one of the experiments failed. He died protecting Pioggia, who was almost get caught in the explosion, so although he hates his [father], he still respects him somewhat. Nevertheless, his sufferings didn't end there. Another researcher replaced Tyr and they continued their experiments on Pioggia, and he, had losing the will to break free, simply followed their desire and allowed himself to be dragged everywhere, thus creating his submissive side toward superior figures.


Years passed, Pioggia lost count of his own age. Scientists and researches come and goes, he doesn't even bother to remember their names when they introduced themselves in order to coax him to follow their orders. However, one day, while he tried to sleep with the aching pain he felt around his Installer Port, he heard several scientists talked about a plan to replace their current Head Researcher with a younger researcher. They said something about the new researcher was a temperamental guy and very arrogant, due to his status and background as a child of a very wealthy family in Pastalia. Pioggia didn't hear the rest of their conversations because he's too tired, so he fall asleep without knowing that the scientists were talking about their new leader's long-hair fetish.

The next day, said researcher came. Pioggia was introduced to him, and he learned his name: Xanxus. At first, the experiments went normal and all, but when Xanxus reads that Pioggia shows no significant progress, he began shouting at him and calling him [trash] and [scum], much to Pioggia's dislikes. Even worse, it seems that Xanxus loves to pull at Pioggia's long hair, proven by the fact that he always do that whenever he scolds Pioggia.

Pioggia, never likes people touching his hair (because Tyr once stated that he loves Pioggia's hair, which resembles his dead wife very much) and became too tired to follow anyone's order, finally snapped and fought back, biting Xanxus and even scarred his face and body. Their battle lasts for three days of endless Song Magic blasts and bullets spew. Even though Pioggia is a powerful Reyvateil, Xanxus is far stronger than him so he easily overpowered him. Seeing that they had caused lot of casualties and wiped out the research facility, Xanxus dragged Pioggia to his personal research laboratory and continues experimenting on Pioggia.


There, in the laboratory located beneath Xanxus' manor in Pastalia--close to The Slums--Pioggia forced to live along with the rude guy and his servants(?), Lussuria and Leviathan. He is forced to stay in the same room with another Reyvateil that Xanxus experimented on, named Belphegor, or Bel in short. Due to their similar fate, they became friends quickly, although Pioggia got annoyed lot of times because Bel often makes fun of his hair and feminine appearances.  They shared lot of stories and comforts each other in weird way (for example, Pioggia shouting wholeheartedly next to Bel's ear, or Bel trying to stab Pioggia whenever he said he's too tired).
